Information for Charlotte Park Families

Our families are the most important thing to us!  We hope to partner with you to develop a strong relationship that will benefit the social, emotional, and academic development of all our students! 

 

Arrival and Dismissal Information:

Arrival and Dismissal:
The school day for Charlotte Park Elementary begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. Punctuality and attendance are vital to student success. Make every effort to arrive on time and pick up on time every day. Our doors open at 7:30 am for those students that wish to eat breakfast. All other students (PreK-4) should arrive at 7:45 am.
Arrival:
Car riders should be ready to get out of the car as you pull around to the front of the building. Students should exit from the passenger side. We will be letting students out at the start of the awning. Parents, do not get out of your car. If your child needs assistance, our special area teachers are there to assist them in opening the doors. If arriving after 8:00 am, parents must park and come in to sign your student in tardy. ALL car riders must use the car rider line by entering through the back gate located on Scholarship Ave.
DANGER!!! **DO NOT DROP OFF STUDENTS ON THE STREET**
Dismissal:
We begin dismissal at 2:50 pm. Students that have not been picked up after dismissal has finished (3:15 pm) will need to be signed out in the office by an adult. If you need to dismiss your child early, it MUST be done before 2:30pm.
Walkers:
A parent or guardian must be present to pick up walkers. Walkers are dismissed from the back cafeteria door at 3:10pm. No parking to pick up a walker is permitted. Walkers must live within walking distance to the school.

Mr. Charles and Ms. Leanne work hard to get your children home safe! Please review the bus rules with your child and help reinforce them at home.

Charlotte Park Elementary has three bus routes

Charlotte Park Dress Code Policy

Tops

  • Shirts can be any color (collar or no collar) with short or long sleeves.
  • Tank tops and/or spaghetti straps are not permitted.
  • Shoulders and mid-sections must be completely covered.

Bottoms

  • Jeans, pants, or shorts can be any color, but should NOT have any rips or tears.
  • Leggings/Pajama bottoms may NOT be worn as pants. Leggings should only be worn under a skirt or dress. Athletic shorts are permissible.
  • Shorts and skirts must extend to fingertip-length

Shoes

  • Tennis shoes are highly encouraged for daily outdoor play and Physical Education.
  • For safety reasons, flip-flops are not allowed. All footwear must have a heel strap.

Other

  • Head coverings are allowed for religious purposes. Students are encouraged to remove hats and hoodies when they are inside the school building.
  • Heavy coats and jackets must be kept in lockers or hung in the cubby area during instruction.
  • Clothing cannot contain questionable or inappropriate subject matter, including but not limited to: smoking, alcohol, weapons, drugs, violence, etc.
  • *Principals reserve the right to make adjustments and use discretion, as needed.
  • ** Parents will be notified of any dress code violation and after 2 offenses parents will be required to bring students a change of clothes before students can return to class.

 


Charlotte Park Visitor Policy

For the Safety and Security of our Students and Staff

  • All visitors must check in the front office before they will be allowed to go to their destination.
  • All visitors must  have an educational reason for their visit and have pre-arranged the visit with a staff member. Educational reasons include parent/teacher conferences, volunteer opportunities, S-Teams and IEP meetings, lunch with your child, etc.
  • All Visitors will be asked for a form of identification when checking in.
  • Visitors will not be allowed in the building in the mornings to walk their child to class, including on the 1st day. We try very hard to begin instruction promptly at 8:00am.
  • Visitors may eat lunch with their students. We are allowing 3 parents per grade level per day. Appointments to have lunch with your student must be made 24 hours in advance. To make an appointment for lunch call the front office (615-353-2006). Visitors coming for lunch must still check in with the office with valid identification.
